About the Alliance Française                         

Worldwide: Teaching French to the world

Created in 1883 in Paris, the Alliance Française is a global network of about 1200 schools in 138 countries. Its aim is to widen access to French language and culture and to encourage a friendly dialogue between countries through education and cultural exchanges in a growing multicultural and multilingual environment. United Kingdom: Alliance Française de Londres

Alliance Française UK offers courses and cultural activities through a well established network of 13 schools and more than 50 clubs - for about 6500 students and 2500 members. Alliance Française UK is the parent organisation within the United Kingdom. It provides financial and logistic support to the language schools and cercles (clubs) within the UK. Winchester: Cercle Français de Winchester

The Cercle Français de Winchester is one such club drawing members from a large part of southern Hampshire. It is affiliated to the Alliance Française UK which provides valuable financial assistance. The Cercle Français de Winchester is a Registered Charity (No. 1020086)
